A day in the Clubhouse

We are now able to welcome babies from 12 months again as of September 2023
We operate in sessions. AM: 8am - 1pm. PM: 1pm-6pm*
Whether you choose to send your child for a session, a whole day or maybe a session plus an extra hour or two might suit you best, we will discuss your needs when you come along to enrol.
All we ask is that your child attends a minimum of twice a week for the purposes of them settling in and for us to be able to get to know them, and you to enable us to provide the best care.

Play: We explore, discover, take risks, express ourselves, sing, dance, perform, create, get active, learn life skills, play, laugh, make friends and great memories and best of all we have heaps of fun! It’s all in a day’s play at The Caterpillar Clubhouse.
Independence: From the moment our children step through the door we encourage independence. They are encouraged yet supported to hang their own coats and take off their shoes. They are welcomed to the breakfast table and given choices as to what they'd like to eat and drink. The children self serve and clear the table when they've finished. Then it's play time! With a whole host of items available all day every day the children are free to explore, create and play in whichever way they prefer. Supervised by our experienced team they will be supported and challenged to take their interests to the next level to help them achieve and develop in a way that best engages them.
Dining: We operate a rolling snack system. The children are informed snack is available and take it in turns to eat, a few at a time.
Again, children self serve and clear away their own things. As they settle in, our self care hygiene routines such as hand washing before meal times quickly become second nature. This is a prime example of the children assessing risk as we don't use on any plastic as soon as children are old enough to move on from a lidded beaker they are provided with crockery and drink from small glasses. We have seen a massive improvement in sensible behaviour at the table since adopting this approach. All food is provided by us unless there is a specific specialist dietary requirement. At lunch we come together and eat. We have a fixed 4 week menu. Those who stay for dinner are given a hot meal.
Fruit is always available too.
Please note: During the Autumn term we provide hot lunches after our wet & windy outdoor play and a cold PM meal
We appreciate choosing a Nursery is a really big decision and you need to make sure we're right for you and your child.
Of course you will want to come and have a look around.
We welcome visitors. Contact us to make an appointment for a show around where you can stay for 30 minutes to get a real feel of the place in action.

We'll try our best to accomodate your preferred choice and be in touch to confirm your visit as soon as possible.
